- IIT-Kanpur scientist Ropesh Goyal wins “Young Geospatial Scientist” award
- Ropesh Goyal of IIT-Kanpur won the ‘Young Geospatial Scientist’ award for his unparalleled contribution in developing the Indian Geoid Model and Computation Software. AS Kiran Kumar, Member of Space Commission, Government of India and former Chairman of ISRO, presented the award to Goyal during the inaugural ceremony of DigiSmart India 2021 conference organized by Geospatial World.
- Announcement of the World Inequality Report 2022
- France-based World Inequality Lab published its report titled “World Inequality Report 2022”. This report was written by Lucas Chancel, co-director of the World Inequality Lab. It was coordinated by the famous French economist Thomas Piketty. The top 10 per cent and top 1 per cent of the Indian population account for 57 per cent and 22 per cent respectively of the total national income in 2021, while the share of the bottom 50 per cent has come down to 13 per cent.

- National Institution of Transforming India (NITI) Aayog in partnership with Convergence Energy Service Limited (CESL) and World Resources Institute, India (WRI India) and with the support of Transformative Urban Mobility Initiative launched ‘e-Sawaari India Electric Bus Alliance’ . - The Kazuveli wetland located in Villupuram district of Tamil Nadu has been declared the 16th bird sanctuary by Surapiya Sahu, Secretary, Environment and Forests in the Minister of Environment and Forests. The declaration was made under sub-section (1) of section 18 of the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972. The Kazuveli wetland is known to be the second largest brackish water lake in South India only after Pulicat Lake.
