- एक वरिष्ठ अधिकारी ने शुक्रवार को यहां बताया कि महाराष्ट्र सरकार ने आयातित स्कॉच व्हिस्की पर उत्पाद शुल्क में 50 प्रतिशत की कमी की है, ताकि इसकी कीमत अन्य राज्यों के बराबर हो सके। आयातित स्कॉच व्हिस्की पर उत्पाद शुल्क 300 प्रतिशत से कम कर दिया गया है। विनिर्माण लागत का 150 प्रतिशत, “अधिकारी ने पीटीआई को बताया। इस संबंध में अधिसूचना गुरुवार को जारी की गई थी, उसने कहा। महाराष्ट्र सरकार सालाना आयातित स्कॉच की बिक्री से लगभग 100 करोड़ रुपये का राजस्व कमाती है। राजस्व की उम्मीद है अधिकारी ने कहा कि बिक्री को एक लाख बोतल से बढ़ाकर 250 करोड़ रुपये करने की उम्मीद है।उन्होंने कहा कि शुल्क में कमी से अन्य राज्यों से स्कॉच की तस्करी और नकली शराब की बिक्री पर भी अंकुश लगेगा।

- The Maharashtra government has reduced the excise duty on imported Scotch whiskey by 50 per cent so that it can be priced at par with other states, a senior official said here on Friday. Excise duty on imported Scotch whiskey has been reduced from 300 per cent. 150 per cent of the manufacturing cost,” the official told PTI. Notification in this regard was issued on Thursday, she said. The Maharashtra government generates revenue of about Rs 100 crore annually from the sale of imported Scotch. The revenue is expected to increase from one lakh bottles to Rs 250 crore, the official said. The reduction in duty will also curb smuggling of scotch from other states and sale of spurious liquor, he said.
